Set up Pro Tools to output to Audio Bridge
1. Enable Audio Bridge in your Pro Tools project:
- Go to Setup › Playback Engine
- Make sure the
Aux I/O
check box is selected - Click
OK
- Pro Tools should quit and restart automatically.
2. Add a Stereo Audio Bridge as an Output
- Go to Setup › I/O
- Under the Output tab, click on
Aux I/O
- Select the Out check box for one of the Stereo Audio Bridge channels (Audio Bridge 2A or Audio Bridge 2B)
- Click
OK
3. Set up an Aux Track for parallel routing
This allows you to send audio to both Louper (via Audio Bridge) and your local speakers/headphones.
- Click on the Window View Selector above your track list and ensure that the
Sends A-E
andI/O
checkboxes are selected - These should now appear as columns on your track list
- Ensure the I/O output option for all your audio tracks is routed to
Bus 1-2 (stereo)
- Go to Track › New and create a new Stereo Aux Input track
- For clarity, you can name this track “To LDE”
- Then click
Create
. - In the I/O column for your “To LDE” Aux track, change the Input to
Bus 1-2 (stereo)
- In the I/O column for your “To LDE” Aux track, add your physical audio setup (headphones / external speakers etc) as the output
- In the Send A-E column for your “To LDE” Aux track, add your chosen Audio Bridge (2A or 2B) as the output
- A fader should now be visible for your “To LDE” Aux track
- Turn the fader volume up and play back your timeline to check that the audio levels are correct.
Pro Tools is now sending a stereo mix of your project to two outputs: your chosen Audio Bridge bus (which can be picked up and streamed by LDE) and your in-suite audio setup for local monitoring.
note
If you’re working with a third party software, like Source Nexus, you can skip the Audio Bridge step above, and add your plugin as the output option in the Insert A-E column on the “To LDE” Track.
