Recommended System and Network Specifications

Livestreaming video content with sub-second latency requires a stable network connection and hardware capable of handling multiple CPU-intensive processes simultaneously. To ensure a smooth experience as a host or participant, we recommend the following system and network specifications:

For Hosts Streaming into a Louper Room​

Mac:

  • Apple Silicon chip (minimum), M1 Pro or better recommended
  • macOS Sonoma or later
  • Minimum 16 GB RAM, 32GB or higher recommended

Windows:

  • Minimum 8-core CPU
  • Minimum 16GB RAM, 32GB or higher recommended

Network & Browser:

  • Upload and download speeds of at least 10 Mbps
  • Wired Ethernet connection strongly recommended
  • Google Chrome (highly recommended) for accessing Louper Rooms

While streaming, we recommend closing all unnecessary browser tabs and background applications to optimize performance.

For Participants Joining a Louper Room from a Computer​

Mac:

  • Apple Silicon chip (minimum), M1 or better recommended
  • macOS Sonoma or later
  • Minimum 8GB RAM, 16GB and higher recommended

Windows:

  • Minimum 8-core CPU
  • Minimum 8GB RAM, 16GB and higher recommended

Network & Browser:

  • Upload and download speeds of at least 10 Mbps
  • Wired Ethernet connection strongly recommended
  • Google Chrome highly recommended for accessing Louper Rooms

TIP: When viewing a live stream, closing unnecessary browser tabs can help improve performance.

For Participants Joining a Louper Room from a Mobile Device​

iPhone & iPad:

  • iPhone 12 or newer, iPad models from 2021 or later
  • iOS 17 or later
  • Safari Browser (highly recommended)
  • Stable 5G or wifi connection recommended (4G will typically not sustain a livestream reliably)

Android:

  • Android 14 or newer
  • Minimum 8GB RAM, 16GB recommended
  • Google Chrome highly recommended
  • Stable 5G or wifi connection recommended (4G will not sustain a livestream)

Android devices are not fully supported; some video chat tools may not behave as expected.

Firewall Considerations​

If you are joining a Louper livestream from a network with firewall restrictions, you may experience connectivity issues. Please refer to our Firewall Access Rules for more information on required network configurations.
