Upgrade from legacy to new streaming servers
In January 2024, we introduced new servers globally, which are lower latency and have automatic failover support for livestreams. The result is a more robust streaming experience, particularly for sessions where people are connecting from different parts of the world.
If you are using legacy servers, we strongly recommend switching to new servers before September 8, 2024. If you do not switch before this date, we will automatically switch your rooms to new servers and your stream keys will change. You will need to update your stream keys in LDE or whichever encoder you are using in order to stream again.
How to switch to new servers
- Go to your dashboard
- Click the More icon (three dots) of your room and select
Room settings
from the dropdown menu - Click the
Streams
tab - Scroll down and enable the
Use new streaming servers
toggle (if you do not see this toggle, it means your room is already using our new servers) - Click
Save changes
- A "Stream keys changed" modal will appear. Click the
Show stream keys
button. - Copy the new stream key and paste it into LDE or whichever encoder you are using, and you'll be good to go.
If you haven't yet upgraded from LBS to LDE, now's a great time to do that too!
If it is after September 7, 2024 and your stream keys are not working
This means we have automatically switched your room to the new server infrastructure and you probably haven't yet updated your stream keys in LDE.
- Go to your dashboard
- Click the More icon (three dots) of your room and select
Stream keys
from the dropdown menu - Copy and paste the stream key into LDE or whichever encoder you are using to stream to your room
