- MediaSilo Integration (Beta): Connect Louper with MediaSilo to streamline video reviews — no more downloading and re-uploading! Easily sync timestamped comments between platforms in real-time. Owners/Admins can set it up via the Filespaces page. (Note: Currently in beta; only available for teams with MediaSilo integration enabled)

Referrals Program: Reward users for inviting others to Louper. Find your referral link and track rewards in the Referrals section on your dashboard.
Claim Host Mid-Session: Admins can now grab host controls during a session if no one's currently host. If no one claims it, the first admin in gets host access after 5 minutes. The default host can claim control back. Note: This feature is currently limited to selected enterprise users.

- Room preferences are now accessible to everyone, "in-room" room preferences moved to the "More Options" menu, and dashboard updated including updated descriptions and sound notifications.

New Self Onboarding Flow:
We’ve rolled out a brand new self-onboarding flow for direct signups to make the first-time experience smoother and more intuitive.
- The welcome video and onboarding questions have been removed.
- Room setup now happens automatically after signup, so users can jump right in.
- A helpful “Enter” room tooltip appears on the dashboard to guide users.
- Inside the room, contextual setup guide modals walk users through key actions.
- After the stream is connected or the first file is added, a one-time invite modal prompts users to bring others into the room.
- Invited users continue to see the Welcome Modal post-signup, while direct signups follow the new streamlined onboarding flow.
This update is designed to increase the number of “magic moments” and help users get started faster with less friction.

Review Link File Downloads:
Files can now be downloaded directly from review links, provided the “Allow Downloads” option is enabled in the review link settings. Two new buttons have been added: Download All: Downloads all files attached to the review link. This button appears on the first review link page, where all files are listed.
Download: Available on individual file pages, this button downloads only the currently open file.

- Optimized the livestream subscription process to improve speed, reliability, and overall performance.
- Introduced a new Refresh Stream button to resolve livestream subscription issues. This action affects only the user who clicks it and is available on both the control bar and the sources sidebar.

Room Preferences:
A new Room Preferences section has been added to Personal Settings, allowing users to customize how they interact with rooms. It currently includes two settings:
Mute Stream Audio: When enabled, stream audio is automatically muted upon entering a room. If the source switches to a file, audio will be unmuted. Switching back to a stream will mute it again.
Select Default View: Users can set one of the three existing layouts as their default. The selected layout is applied automatically when entering a room.
These preferences are also accessible within the room via the right sidebar.
Note: This feature is currently available only to selected users.
Other Enhancements:
- Removed the 9-month maximum limit for temporary studio room extensions. Users now have a fixed set of 12 extension options, allowing them to extend rooms up to 12 months from the current expiry date — effectively enabling indefinite paid extensions.

- Users on a trial can now upgrade directly to a paid plan without waiting for the trial to end.
- A 5-second cooldown timer has been added to the Rejoin button after the host ends a session.

Passphrase for Review Links and Showcases
- Passphrase toggle: A passphrase toggle has been added to the Create/Edit Review Links and Showcases modals. Enabling this toggle auto-generates a 6-digit passphrase, which can be edited.
- Passphrase Icon: Review Links and Showcases with passphrase protection will now display a passphrase icon to indicate they are secured.
- Copy Modal & Copy Passphrase Option: If passphrase protection is enabled, the Review Link/Showcase options will include a Copy Passphrase button. The Copy Link button will open a new modal reminding the user about the passphrase and offering two options:
- Copy Link with Passphrase
- Keep Link Only

Presenter Permission:
Presenter Permission allows room hosts to manage who can control playback. Members with Presenter status can switch sources, play or pause content, and adjust the seek bar, while Observers can only view the playback without control privileges. This feature can be toggled in room settings. When enabled, a new right sidebar option appears in the room, showing a list of presenters and observers. Room hosts can easily change the status of each participant.
In addition to the main toggle, there are three new settings:
- Initial Presenters: This field specifies which participants will have Presenter status after joining the room. Options include everyone, host only, and admin & host.
- Admins Can Change Presenter Permissions: When enabled, Admins can toggle Presenter Permissions alongside the Host.
- Hide Presenter Controls for Observers: When enabled, Observers won’t see any playback or screen share controls, even if they are disabled.
Disabling the Presenter Permission feature automatically hides and disables all related settings and removes the feature from the room entirely.
Note: This is an enterprise-only feature.

- Improved how the app handles internet issues by reconnecting video and chat separately and more smoothly. While reconnecting, features are paused and a message is shown: “Your internet connection is poor. Attempting to reconnect to the current session.” Once back online, everything resumes and users see: “You got reconnected to the current session due to network issues. Please close any extra tabs or apps that might be using your internet.” If it happens over 3 times in an hour, a “Poor Network” help screen appears.
- Fixed an issue where chat and video functions were triggered unnecessarily during reconnections.
- Added a 15-second limit for reconnecting; if it fails, users are taken to a page explaining the network issue.
- Stopped a bug that caused users to appear multiple times in the session during reconnects.
- Updated the message shown after reconnecting to “User got reconnected due to network issues” for better clarity.

Improved Disconnected Due to Bad Network Page
- The network disconnected page now provides clearer communication about network issues and includes steps for users to resolve them.
- The Rejoin button will only be enabled after a 5-second timeout when a user reaches this page.
- If a user is disconnected more than once in an hour due to network problems, they must check a box saying, "I understand my network is bad and I still want to rejoin" before rejoining. Upon reentering the room, a modal will pop up explaining the recent network issue and providing steps to resolve it. The user must click "I understand" to close the modal.
Other Enhancements:
- If a network issue occurs while joining a room, a warning modal with a Rejoin button will appear, prompting the user to check their network connection and try again. This prevents users from being stuck on the initial loading screen for more than 30 seconds when something goes wrong.
- The Connecting toast will now only appear after entering the room, instead of showing up on the Lobby waiting page.

- Admins in a room can now view lobby requests even when the “Admins can control lobby” setting is turned off. The lobby requests dropdown displays a message explaining why admins cannot admit or deny participants and provides steps to enable lobby control. This ensures lobby requests aren’t overlooked if the host misses them or hasn’t yet joined the room.

- In the previous behavior, refreshing one Louper tab or opening a new tab after a production update would automatically trigger a refresh across all open tabs. This update modifies the configuration to prevent this from happening. Now, refreshing or opening a new Louper tab will only impact that specific tab, leaving other open tabs unaffected. This improvement also prevents any unwanted refreshes while someone is in a room.

- A feature has been added which now lets user automatically get a trial after signing up with a specific link. The type of the trial depends on the link. The duration is fixed to 10 days.

- Collaborators now will not see the option to delete or rename files. This was a visual UI bug which is fixed now by hiding the option for collaborators.
- A 32 character limit has been added to the password field during signup.

- Added a prompt modal for inviting teammates when someone shares the room link via email to someone who is not a part of the team.

- Added sound notifications for various room events:
- Room join: Plays a sound for both self and other participants.
- Room leave: Plays a sound only for self.
- Lobby join: Plays a sound for users with lobby access when someone enters the lobby. Users can choose between "Off", "Sounds only", and "Sounds with spoken notifications" in Personal Settings via the Dashboard sidebar, with an option to preview both sound choices.
- Introduced Single Sign-On (SSO) support on the sign-in page, allowing users to log in with Google and Apple accounts in addition to email. Google/Apple sign-up now leads directly to onboarding.

- UI Overhaul: The Room UI has been redesigned to enhance in-room functionality and usability.
- Layouts: Louper Rooms now offer three layouts: Original, Filmstrip, and Grid.
- Original Layout: An enhanced version of the previous layout, featuring a new topbar and a controlbar.
- Topbar: Displays connection quality, room name, participant count with a maximum limit, lobby information, time, and room activity notifications.
- Controlbar: Houses video/voice chat controls and player controls, adapting between one or two-row layouts based on available space for a unified control experience.
- Filmstrip Layout: Positions video thumbnails at the top and the player at the bottom, with horizontally scrollable thumbnails.
- Grid Layout: Designed for conferencing, this layout provides larger video thumbnails and a uniformly sized player. The player and thumbnails automatically adjust their size based on available space for an immersive in-room experience.
- Activity Section: Tracks events such as source changes, stream subscriptions, screen shares, and room joins to keep users informed.
- Screen Share Reminder: Alerts users to turn off screen share when switching from screen sharing to a different source to improve the player experience.
- Noise Cancellation:
- AI noise cancellation has been added to all Louper Rooms to filter out noise and echo with precision. This feature is enabled by default and can be toggled on/off in the device settings modal.

- New popovers have been added to the control bar, layouts, and host controls to highlight new features and changes for users.
- Host controls toggles and buttons are now categorized and arranged by function for a more organized user experience.
- Streaming Dev Tools have been added to the room sidebar and the “Share stream keys” modal for testing new ingest and edge LSEs. These tools are only accessible to some of the louper.io domain accounts.
- A new streaming server cluster(two origins, two edges) has been added for the South African region to enhance the user experience for local users.

- Guest registration has been enhanced for single-click room entry or registration. Guest users can now enter their name on the first page and continue to the room, or click "Continue as a Guest" and type their name to proceed. The updated UI improves the experience for guest users, making it easy to enter a room while simplifying the registration process.
- Improved error message for "Device Not Found" situations on the device selection modal now include a link to a detailed guide to help users fix the issue easily.
- A new "Add Room" button has been added for Pro and Plus users, directing them to the existing billing flow with some modifications. This encourages users to upgrade to the Team plan.
- Users attempting to downgrade from yearly to quarterly plans will now see a warning modal, providing better communication regarding their subscription billing timing.
- Default and custom links can now be easily shared via email within Louper from the Share Modal.
- In the "Invite Teammates" modal, the default role is now set to "Select..." instead of "Member."
- Enhanced checks for password-protected rooms for improved accuracy.

- Signed-up users will now see an improved welcome modal when they access the dashboard for the first time. This modal offers a brief tour of Louper and enhances the onboarding experience. It can also be accessed via the "Show quickstart steps" option in the sidebar from the dashboard page.
- A new guest registration page is live. This page appears to guest users who have been in a Louper room twice for more than 5 minutes. The new signup page offers guests the option to "register and continue" or "continue as a guest." Both options take the user into the room, but the former requires an email and username and sends a verification email to complete the registration later. ( This page isn't visible to guest users when they are trying to enter a studio room )
- An obscene filter has been added to all display name input fields in the app and the display name and email input fields on the marketing site contact form.

- Introduced a guest registration feature to encourage signups from guests. The registration page will appear to guests who have entered a room more than twice and stayed for over five minutes. ( This feature is currently hidden and will be available soon after a rework )

Enhancements:
- Devices list in the device selection modal updates when a new audio/video device is connected or an old one is removed. The selected device will now automatically move to the default device.
- Introduced an additional "Where did you hear about us?" question for new users during onboarding to understand their needs better.
- Hosts are now allowed into the room even when it's full. An additional slot above the participant limit is reserved for the host to ensure smooth access.
- A New Room Full page with more information is now displayed to Admins and hosts.
- LBS Bitrate Check and Client Bitrate Check are triggered only if the current bitrate is 30% lower than the target bitrate, and the client bitrate is 25% lower than LBS Bitrate. This prevents false alarms.

- Multiple similar toasts are displayed when the "Go" button is clicked twice before joining the room.
- Multiple similar toasts appear when screen share is disabled and host controls are transferred.
- Livestream disabled for all breaks when a new user joins.
- Mic Icon turns red when earphones are unplugged, but the user isn't muted.
- The drawing shortcut key doesn't work.

- Stream keys are now presented as tabs (e.g., Stream 1, Stream 2), offering a more organized and accessible overview of multiple stream keys.
- Each stream key now includes multiple "format" tabs, providing variations in how the stream key is displayed. For example, RTMP stream keys have tabs like "LBS v2" (combining RTMP server URL and stream key) and "LBS v1" (displaying them separately), enhancing flexibility and usability.

- Moved all Free users to autoscaling servers.

Screenshare:
- Participants can now share their screens using the screenshare button located next to the device settings in the bottom-left corner.
- Screenshare is restricted to one participant at a time. When activated, screenshare will supersede other tracks. (The selected source will automatically transition to the screenshare track for everyone in the room.)
- Hosts have the option to enable or disable screenshare for participants either via Host Controls or individually through Participant Thumbnail Options.
- If a participant's screenshare is active and their screenshare privilege is revoked, the screenshare will be automatically terminated.
Refresh Files:
- Participants can now update their filespace and click the "Refresh Files" button to update the files within the room without requiring a full page refresh.
- When any participant initiates a file refresh, the files for all participants in the room are updated.
- The quality of screenshare is set to a maximum of 1080p at 30fps. (Simulcast support will be introduced in the near future.)
- Files can be refreshed either from the Sources dropdown below the Player or from the Sources sidebar.
- If a file being played is removed and the files are refreshed, the source will be moved to stream 1. (Support for "Refresh Stream" and "All Sources" will be added soon.)

- The player's aspect ratio is now fixed, regardless of the source's aspect ratio. This adjustment ensures a more consistent viewing experience, with sources fitting perfectly on the screen.
Login Page Error Messages:
- The login page will now display relevant error messages, providing clearer insights into any issues encountered, rather than a generic "Something went wrong" message.

- The lobby is limited to 2X the participant limit. Anyone attempting to enter the lobby after reaching the 2X limit will see a "Lobby Full" message, and the host will receive a toast about the issue along with the username.
3. Lobby Persistence:
- Customizable re-approval settings in the "Access" tab allow the host to choose immediate, 5-minute, 1-hour, or 8-hour intervals before requiring lobby approval upon rejoining.
4. Raise Hands:
- Participants can raise their hands, triggering a toast mentioning the user who raised their hand. The "Raised Hands" tab in the sidebar displays the list of users who raised their hands, and the host can lower raised hands.
5. Host Controls:
- Every room will have a default host, which can be changed from the "Access" tab in the settings. Only the Owner/ Admins of a room can be a host
- Host can control the following for all participants:
- Mute/Unmute
- Enable/Disable Webcams
- Set Mic Mode (Push to Talk or Open Mic)
- Enable/Disable Live Stream
- Lower all raised hands
- Transfer host controls to another teammate
- Host access can be transferred to another teammate while in a room, but when the room is empty, the controls are transferred back to the default host.
6. Remember Mic and Camera Settings:
- Camera and microphone settings can be saved by checking the "Remember these settings" checkbox. These settings will automatically apply every time a user tries to enter a room. Any changes to the camera and microphone settings will not affect the saved settings unless the checkbox is manually checked again.
