Upgrade from LBS to LDE

If you are stilling using LBS to stream to your Louper room, we highly recommend switching to LDE. LDE was first released in June 2024 and features many benefits over LBS, including:

  • A completely overhauled UI, with a much more minimal, compact design and fewer distractions
  • Hardware encoding support on Mac, which is much lighter on system resources than the software encoder used in LBS
  • Native support for Apple Silicon
  • An improved updates system, which makes staying up to date with the latest version of LDE easier
  • Better error handling

Download and configure LDE​

  1. Download LDE and install it on your computer
  2. Launch LDE and add your relevant sources (for example, an NDI, display capture or Blackmagic hardware source), the same way you did in LBS. Full setup guides are available here

Get new stream key and start stream​

  1. Go to the dashboard of your Louper account in your browser
  2. Click the More icon (three dots) of the room you would like to stream to
  3. Select Stream Keys from the dropdown menu to open the Stream Keys modal
  4. In the "Select Encoder" dropdown, change the option to LDE
  5. Copy the stream key by clicking the copy button
  6. In the LDE main window, click Stream Key and paste the stream key you just copied, then click OK
  7. Click Start Streaming
