Stream a video file from your desktop
In a Louper Room, you can stream a video file from your desktop directly to the Room without uploading the file. All participants will view the streamed video file in sync, but only the person sharing the file stream will have access to the playback controls and seek bar.
note
This feature is currently supported only on Google Chrome. Support for other browsers may be added in the future.
There are two ways to stream a file directly from your desktop into a Room:
You can drag and drop the file into the player:
- From within in a Louper Room, drag an H264 video file directly over the player
- The Stream a File modal will appear
- Drop the file inside this modal, then click
Start file stream - Your file will start playing in the viewer and will be visible to all participants in the Room
- You can play, pause and scrub through the video file you are streaming
- To end the file stream, click the
File Streambutton again
Or you can use the “File Stream” button:
- From within a Louper Room, click the
File Streambutton in the menu panel below the video player - A Stream a File modal will appear. Select an H264 video file from your computer, or drag and drop the file directly into the modal window
- Click
Start Stream - Your video file will now be visible to all participants in the Room
- You can play, pause and scrub through the video file you are streaming
- To end the file stream, click the
