Comparing Versions in a Review Link

You can add a Version Stack to a Review Link, allowing collaborators to view, compare or download versions of a file.

  1. Navigate to the Version Stack you’d like to share.
  2. Right-click on the Version Stack, or click on the three-dot Actions button, and select Create Review Link from the drop-down menu.
  3. Give your Review Link a name and select your preferred Passphrase and Download settings.
  4. Click Done.
  5. Copy the Review Link url and password (if enabled) to share with your collaborators.

Opening a Review Link will take you to the main overview page, displaying all the files and folders contained in the link. Click to open the Version Stack you'd like to view. If the Version Stack is the only item in the Review Link, it will open automatically.

  1. The default version (the file at the top of the Version Stack) will appear in the player.
  2. You will see the version number displayed below the player (eg V3 of 3).
  3. Press play to view the default version.
  4. To play an alternative version, click on the version number below the player and select another version from the list.
  5. The version number will change to indicate which version is currently being viewed (eg V2 of 3).
note

Any Timestamped Comments or annotations added will be saved to the version of the file currently displayed in the player. If you would like to add Timestamped Comments to another file in the stack, click the Version number below the player and select the version you’d like to work with.

  1. Click the Compare button below the player.
  2. Select a comparison view from the list above the player: horizontal side by side, vertical side by side, overlay with a vertical split slider, overlay with horizontal split slider, or AB click-and-hold overlay.
  3. The heading bar of the dominant version will be highlighted blue.
  4. During playback, you will hear the audio from the dominant version, and any Timestamped Comments added while in the Compare Versions mode will be added to the dominant file only.
  5. Click the heading bar on the other file to switch the dominant version.
  6. Play your files, or scrub the seek bar, to compare sequences or individual frames.
  7. In the Horizontal and Vertical Split views, you can drag the slider across the frame to reveal more or less of the dominant file.
  8. In the AB click-and-hold view, you can click on the player to reveal the non-dominant file.
  9. If there are more than two versions in the Version Stack, you can choose another version to compare by clicking the arrow next to the file’s title and selecting an alternative file from the drop-down menu.
  10. Click the Compare button again to close the Compare Versions modal and return to viewing a single version from the stack.
note

Any Timestamped Comments or annotations added while in the Compare Versions modal will be saved to the dominant version. You can switch the dominant version by clicking on the heading bar for the version you’d like to comment on.
