Sharing files over text chat

Participants in a Louper Room can upload files directly to the text chat for other participants to download. All files shared this way will automatically be uploaded to the Room Chat Files Filespace in the Team dashboard.

Upload files to the Room text chat​

  1. Open the text chat by clicking on the Text chat button in the right sidebar.
  2. Click on the + button to add a file, or drag and drop a file into the chat area.
  3. You can add a typed message in the chat input field.
  4. Click Send to start the upload.
  5. Once uploaded, the file will appear as an item in the chat.

Download files from the Room text chat​

  1. Open the text chat by clicking on the Text chat button in the right sidebar.
  2. Click the Download button next to the file.
  3. Choose a download destination, then click Save

View files uploaded to the Room text chat in your Dashboard​

  1. Open the Team’s dashboard and navigate to Room Chat Files Filespace.
  2. Open the folder named after the Room where the session took place.
  3. Open the folder matching the date of the session.
  4. All files uploaded to the Room text chat on that date will appear in this folder.

Supported File formats​

You can upload up to 10 files at a time, with a maximum size of 1GB per file.

While is it possible to share files up to 1GB in size, uploading large files through the text chat may affect livestream and video conferencing performance for the participant who is uploading, or downloading the files. For larger file transfers, we recommend uploading directly to your Team’s Filespace instead.
